Low Power Reversible Parallel Binary Adder/Subtractor

    Get PDF
In recent years, Reversible Logic is becoming more and more prominent technology having its applications in Low Power CMOS, Quantum Computing, Nanotechnology, and Optical Computing. Reversibility plays an important role when energy efficient computations are considered. In this paper, Reversible eight-bit Parallel Binary Adder/Subtractor with Design I, Design II and Design III are proposed. In all the three design approaches, the full Adder and Subtractors are realized in a single unit as compared to only full Subtractor in the existing design. The performance analysis is verified using number reversible gates, Garbage input/outputs and Quantum Cost. It is observed that Reversible eight-bit Parallel Binary Adder/Subtractor with Design III is efficient compared to Design I, Design II and existing design.Comment: 12 pages,VLSICS Journa

Two-Hop Routing with Traffic-Differentiation for QoS Guarantee in Wireless Sensor Networks

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a Traffic-Differentiated Two-Hop Routing protocol for Quality of Service (QoS) in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). It targets WSN applications having different types of data traffic with several priorities. The protocol achieves to increase Packet Reception Ratio (PRR) and reduce end-to-end delay while considering multi-queue priority policy, two-hop neighborhood information, link reliability and power efficiency. The protocol is modular and utilizes effective methods for estimating the link metrics. Numerical results show that the proposed protocol is a feasible solution to addresses QoS service differenti- ation for traffic with different priorities.Comment: 13 page

Fingerprint Verification based on Gabor Filter Enhancement

Human fingerprints are reliable characteristics for personnel identification as it is unique and persistence. A fingerprint pattern consists of ridges, valleys and minutiae. In this paper we propose Fingerprint Verification based on Gabor Filter Enhancement (FVGFE) algorithm for minutiae feature extraction and post processing based on 9 pixel neighborhood. A global feature extraction and fingerprints enhancement are based on Hong enhancement method which is simultaneously able to extract local ridge orientation and ridge frequency. It is observed that the Sensitivity and Specificity values are better compared to the existing algorithms.Comment: 7 pages IEEE format, International Journal of Computer Science and Information Security, IJCSIS November 2009, ISSN 1947 5500, http://sites.google.com/site/ijcsis

Measuring Quality of Service in Retail Outlets Using Fuzzy Numbers

    Get PDF
The measurement of quality of service in any service providing organisation has been a very complex process to deal with. Most of the attributes here are intangible; largely depend upon customers’ expectations and perceptions. The quality of service may be poor, average, good, and so on depending upon the performance of the service provider. The linguistic terms like poor, average and good could be vague (fuzzy) unless various attributes of a particular service are understood precisely. In order to avoid the ambiguity of the concept associated with customers’ expectations and perceptions of service quality fuzzy numbers are widely used in many complex management issues. In this paper we focus on quantifying the quality of service in retail outlets based on some specific characteristics using fuzzy numbers. Key words: Quality of service; Retail outlets; linguistic terms; fuzzy number

Structural study, NCA, FTIR, FT-Raman spectral investigations, NBO analysis and thermodynamic functions of N-benzyloxy carbonyl-L-alanine

The FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of N-benzyloxy carbonyl-L-alanine have been recorded and analyzed. Natural bond orbital analysis has been carried out for various intra-molecular interactions that are responsible for the stabilization of the molecule. HOMO-LUMO energy gap has been computed with the help of density functional theory. The statistical thermodynamic functions (heat capacity, entropy, vibrational partition function and Gibbs energy) have been obtained for the range of temperature 100-1000 K. The infrared and Raman spectra have been also predicted from the calculated intensities. Comparison of the experimental and theoretical spectra values provides important information about the ability of the computational method to describe the vibrational modes. In addition to these, Mulliken’s atomic charges associated with each atom have also been reported and mapped molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) surfaces have also been performed with the same level of DFT
